Wondering what to read after Harry Potter? Here are some of my (or my kids') favorites, split into age groups and categorized by genre. Nearly all of these titles can be found at your local bookstore or library. But for those who can't make it to a bookstore or library, I've provided links to Amazon.com.

Please note that most of the titles listed under Young Readers will probably require parental assistance (i.e. someone to read them aloud). Also, the age groups are only rough approximations. Middle Readers might want to check out the Young Adult titles, and vice-versa.

In addition, I usually only list the first book in a series (such as Lord of the Rings or The Narnia Chronicles), but you can assume that I'm recommending all the books unless I post a big sign saying otherwise. (Something like, "WARNING: Book IV of The Munchkin Chronicles was written by the author's second-cousin-once-removed 70 years after the author's death and should be avoided at all costs.")
